It was another great year for our Men’s and Women’s Ministries! A primary focus of 2024 was to continue the consistent cadence of fellowship and serving.

To "Live Life in Relationship" the men continued their "Men’s Breakfast" cadence throughout the year with attendance averaging between 20-25 men. The  breakfasts offered an opportunity for our men to get to know one another on a deeper  level, have thoughtful conversations about their week, study some scripture, all while enjoying great food! Our women followed suit by beginning a Mama Bear Apologetics Book Group to gather, discuss, and grow closer to one another while reflecting on this book.

To expand the theme of "Living Life in Relationship", but to also provide an opportunity  to "Reach the Lost", our Men’s and Women’s Group held several larger events. These events included a Men's weekend retreat, a tailgate cookout, a women’s axe throwing event, and a Christmas Tea. These activities offered a chance to not only have fun together, but also to  share an easy invite with a friend or neighbor to come and join in fellowship.

We took the motto of "Give it away" quite literally during the Long  Grove festivals. Working in conjunction with the parking ministry, we grilled and gave away free hot dogs, accompanied with LGCC informational  cards, to all that passed by the church. Over the course of the Chocolate, Strawberry,  and Apple festivals, hundreds of hot dogs were given to members of the community,  always accompanied with a smile and a friendly conversation about LGCC.

Overall, it was a successful year for our Men’s and Women’s Ministries! A consistent fellowship rhythm was continued that saw increased participation not just from existing church members, but also from new members and guests. We plan to keep the momentum going in 2025 with a focus of deepening our relationships with one another and with God.

'Jesus replied, “‘You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. A second is equally important: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Matthew 22:37-39 (NIV)
