February 18, 2024 LGCC Annual Congregation Meeting Minutes
Opening of 2024 Meeting & Elder Report
- The annual meeting of the congregation was opened by elder board President Jesse and a quorum was established.
• Jesse introduced the elders, the trustees and the ministry leaders.
• Motion Anderson, seconded by Pastor Santiago to waive the reading of the minutes and it passed unanimously.
• The Elder Report was given by Jesse.
Amendment to the Church Constitution
• Elder John introduced and explained the proposed Article IX Section B amendment to the Constitution.
• Motion Laurie seconded by Anderson to waive the 10 day notice requirement to amend the Constitution and it passed unanimously.
• Motion Denise, seconded by Anderson to amend Article IX Section B of the Constitution to comply with the IRS requirement in order to be approved as a 501(c)(3) organization.
Treasurer Report & Approval of 2024 Budget
• Trustee/Treasurer Alan gave the 2023 Financial Report. (See the 2023 Financial Report in the 2023 Annual Report Statement of Financial Position in the handout)
• Alan presented the 2024 budget recommended by the elders and by the trustees and he answered questions.
• The ballots for the affirmation of the elders were collected.
• Motion Joanne, seconded by Denise to approve the 2023 Financial Report and it passed unanimously.
• The congregation was instructed to complete the paper ballots regarding the 2024 budget and the constitutional amendment.
• The ballots for the 2024 budget and the Article 9 amendment were collected.
Ministry Reports
• Cindy gave the Children’s Ministry Report and announced her transition from our church into the public school system this coming fall.
• Pastor Santiago gave the Community Family Life Ministry Report.
Results of Congregational Votes
• The votes were tallied and the 2024 budget passed unanimously.
• The elders were all retained.
• The article IX amendment passed unanimously.
Senior Pastor's Report
• Pastor Dell gave the Senior Pastor’s Annual Report and a video was shown celebrating the past year.
• Pastor Dell addressed the Vision for our church for the upcoming year.
• Pastor Dell led the congregation in prayer.
Closing of Meeting
• Motion Darrell, seconded by Anderson to close the meeting and it passed unanimously.
• Luke led the congregation in a hymn.
• Pastor Dell gave the benediction.
