Pastoral Report
2025 was a year of transformation for LGCC – physically, spiritually, and in our community life. We grieved, we laughed, we cried, and we celebrated. We did life together as a church body, and through both the challenges and blessings, God’s presence has been evident.
This year has seen a number of changes. There have been physical changes to our historic buildings with upgraded carpet and AC in our Original Church Building, new chairs and upgraded spaces in the Community House, a new fence around our playground, and the installation of the Levi Rhett Legacy Garden, which was generously gifted to the church.
These physical changes also paralleled some of our staffing changes that occurred during the year. Our staff and volunteer team saw roles change and evolve over the course of the last 12 months, including the departure of several long-time team members. Change is never easy, and we are very appreciative of all who have served in various capacities through the years.
The most important transformation that has occurred in the past year is in each of your individual hearts. We are a church striving to turn up the spiritual temperature, not just on Sundays but in our daily walk with the Lord. That will only happen as we continue to worship God in both Spirit and in truth. While congregational attendance numbers have remained consistent with the prior year, with a slight increase in the last 3 months, we are not going to be a church that is overly concerned about numbers. Instead, we are a church focused on the spiritual depth of our members, the state of their hearts, and the closeness with which they walk with the Lord, so that they may reflect Jesus and impact all those around them. While there is no easy metric for that, it has been evident not only during Sunday services but also through other LGCC activities on and off campus that the Lord is moving. Our prayer is that we continue to be obedient and faithful, moving in step with what the Holy Spirit is doing, and guide others to the same. May we all continue in the mission to make heaven crowded as we see many lives transformed through the power of the Lord.
